The Hotel-Restaurant Krone in the village center of Leuk-Stadt was probably built in the first part of the 17th century.
According to tradition, Johann Wolfgang Goethe stayed at the Hotel Krone during his journey through the region in 1779. The Krone is said to have been completely rebuilt at the end of the 19th century and modernized again in the 20th century.
The current owner has made further renovations and investments totaling approximately CHF 850,000.00 over the last 15 years.
Among other things, the five rooms on the second floor, the kitchen (floor/industrial furnace), the dining room, the staircase, the buffet and the floor in the restaurant, new windows, etc. were renovated. In addition, a lot of new furniture and fixtures were purchased. The facade was redesigned in 2021.
In addition to the private terrace, the upper part of the main square is used as an additional terrace (30 seats) from spring to autumn. This is available for a limited period of time, but an extension can be renegotiated.
