What is a housing cooperative?
A housing cooperative is a non-profit organization that builds or manages housing for its members. Residents are members: they purchase shares but remain tenants (they do not own their homes).
Rents are calculated based on actual costs, and are therefore often lower than the market rate. Members participate in the cooperative's decisions and management (meetings, voting).
The aim is to guarantee quality, stable and affordable housing, with a community and solidarity spirit.
The project in a few words:
This housing cooperative project is located in the village of Burtigny, close to the main street, and benefits from an unobstructed view of the fields and the Lake Geneva landscape.
It plans to build around ten homes, spread over two levels + attic.
Future residents will have the opportunity to participate in the design of their home from the earliest stages, adapting it to their needs while ensuring the overall architectural harmony. Common areas will complement the project, fostering a balance between private and community life. Members will be invited to engage in a truly shared adventure and contribute to the creation of a sustainable, unique living space in harmony with the village's identity.
A partnership with the municipality includes the development of a nearby parking lot and connection to district heating, powered by an environmentally friendly energy source. The architecture will prioritize the use of local, sustainable, and low-impact materials, in line with the region's forest and agricultural resources.
Cooperative share:
The amount will be defined according to the surface area of the accommodation.
