Les Cèdres – Former home of the painter Frédéric Rouge, between heritage and potential
Nestled below the village of Ollon, in the Chablais region of Vaud, Villa Les Cèdres was built in 1870 on the initiative of Monsieur Pick, an Alsatian who had come to settle in Switzerland. For his summer residence, he called upon the Lausanne architect Besancenet, who designed an elegant building in a style that blends charm and character.
In 1902, the property changed hands. The painter Frédéric Rouge, looking for a larger space than his Aigle studio, acquired it. It remained in his family until 2012, when the new owners undertook a complete renovation, with the greatest respect for the original history and architecture. The villa is now listed as a Grade 2 listed building in the inventory of Historic Monuments of the Canton of Vaud, attesting to its heritage significance.
In 2014, the entire property underwent a major restoration, combining preservation of period features with contemporary comfort.
An estate with a dual purpose: exceptional residence and development potential
The property is spread over a vast plot of approximately 5,211 m², offering a privileged living environment in the heart of a wooded park. A 2,183 m² section benefits from a valid building permit for the construction of two contemporary flat-roofed villas. The architectural project, designed in close collaboration with the Historic Monuments Department, has been carefully integrated into the site to preserve the harmony of the place. This permit, free of architectural mandate, can be presented upon request.
